The original painting is a base layer of a fluid acrylic pour. An abstract secondary layer adds gestural marks, textures, and geometric elements that bridge the chaos below with the focal point above. The commanding presence of a detailed great blue heron emerges in the final layer. The heron appears to stand within its abstract landscape, symbolizing the heron's lesson to us in the practice of stillness in the midst of our frenzied world.
