story.     Since 2001, Gainesville's Medal of Honor Host City Program has been a defining way this community shows its appreciation for Medal                     of Honor recipients. Through the honor of hosting these heroes to the town each year and the message they have inspired citizens with,                     Gainesville has developed a rich culture of patriotism that continues to grow.

              "I have 2 favorites from this mural project, and this is one of them. I absolutely love creating the illusion of folds in fabric, so flags have                      quickly become my "thing". This mural design was one that I envisioned almost immediately when I first discussed the project with the                        interior designers and was told the theme of Gainesville area history."
