story.     Gainesville's economic history has been heavily agricultural with one of the early major crops being cotton. Today, agriculture is still                         dominant in Cooke County with a large cattle industry, as well as various crops such as wheat, grain sorghum and corn.

"This mural turned out to be the most difficult for me as I struggled a bit with placement along the incline of the wall up the first floor stairs.                 Once sketched off though, I really enjoyed creating the cotton field and noticed the skyline color and clouds seemed like a storm was                         forming in the distance. I actually got a little lost in thought about the farmer and his sense of urgency to finish harvesting as I painted                       along. I also particularly liked the location of the longhorn and her calf directly as you walk in the outside door...quite the greeting."
